The Minister for Multi-Ethnic Affairs and Sugar Industry, Hon. Charan Jeath Singh, met Brazilโ€™s Minister for Foreign Affairs, Hon. Mauro Vieira to engage in pivotal discussions aimed at enhancing the international relationship between the two nations and advancing Fijiโ€™s sugar industry.

The meeting highlighted the mutual commitment of Fiji and Brazil to strengthen collaboration in the sugar and bioenergy sectors. Both Ministers emphasized the significant potential for expanding bilateral cooperation.

Minister Singh expressed Fiji’s interest in exploring opportunities for technological exchange and best practices in the sugar production and bioenergy sector. He highlighted Fijiโ€™s strategic goals of increasing efficiency and sustainability in its sugar industry, aiming to enhance both economic and environmental outcomes.

The discussions also covered potential investments and partnerships that could facilitate growth and modernization in Fijiโ€™s sugar industry, ultimately contributing to economic development and enhancing partnership between the two countries.

The Bilateral meeting held at the 30th edition of Fenasucro & Agrocana in Brazil 2024, marks a significant step in the ongoing dialogue between Fiji and Brazil, reaffirming their dedication to mutual development goals and shared interests in the Sugar Industry and bioenergy sector.
