CALL FOR EXPRESSION OF INTEREST (EOI)

           APPOINTMENT OF MEMBERS TO THE CONSULTATIVE COMMITTEE FOR MULTI-ETHNIC AFFAIRS

  1. Nature of Engagement

The Ministry of Multi-Ethnic Affairs and Sugar Industry (“the Ministry”) invites Expressions of Interest (EOI) from suitably qualified individuals to serve on the Consultative Committee on Multi-Ethnic Affairs and Social Cohesion (Committee) and provide strategic advice to the Minister, and the Ministry on the following:

  • Initiating policies and initiatives to promote social cohesion.
  • Facilitating dialogue between government, ethnic communities, religious and civil society organisations (CSOs).
  • Developing strategies for inter-ethnic affairs and inclusivity.
  • Raising public awareness on social cohesion initiatives.
  1. Experience and Education

EOIs are invited from individuals with: 

  • 10+ years’ experience in multi-stakeholder environments, including development organisations, CSOs, private sector, or academia/research institutions.
  • Expertise in social cohesion, community engagement, or policy development.
  • Strong knowledge of Fiji’s multicultural and multi-religious landscape.
  • A higher qualification in governance, public policy, media, or advocacy.
  1. Key Responsibilities

The Committee members will:

  • Attend meetings with the Ministry and its stakeholders.
  • Participate in forums with government, CSOs, and religious leaders.
  • Engage in capacity-building and awareness campaigns.
  • Provide strategic recommendations on social cohesion.
  • Undertake any other relevant tasks assigned by the Minister.
