Greetings to you all
As we commence the auspicious festival of Ram Navami today, I extend my warmest greetings to the Hindu community across Fiji. Ram Navami is not only a celebration of the birth of Lord Rama (Lord Vishnuβs avatar) but also a time for reflection, devotion, unity, understanding, and respect amongst us.
As we all gather to mark the birth of lord Rama, which is on the 8th day (April 6th) from today, Hindus across Fiji will get together for the course of eight nights in temples and homes to perform Puja ceremonies, worship, and celebrate, fostering bonds of kinship and spirituality.
I encourage the leaders of the respective organizations and the Ramayan Mandalis to utilize this platform to raise awareness and educate both the youth and the public about the fight against drugs in our communities.
As you come together in worship, I urge you to use this opportunity to highlight to the youths the failures of choosing the wrong path in life and educate and share the moral lessons from traditional scriptures to educate the youths and people of Fiji on the pathway to economic and social prosperity.
Additionally, I call upon religious bodies to organize sessions during the Ram Navami festival, inviting guest speakers who can address Fiji’s growing drug-related and social issues and help create awareness about this critical concern.
Let us take this opportunity to embrace the spirit of inclusivity and understanding, strengthening the bonds that unite us as one nation.
Wishing you and your loved ones a joyous and blessed Ram Navami.
