Northern Division Girmit Descendants (85 Years and Above)

The Girmit Commemoration will be held from 10th – 12th May, 2025 at Subrail Park, Labasa. This significant event honours the legacy of the Girmitiyas, who arrived in Fiji under the indenture system.

To celebrate, recognize and honour the senior Girmit descendants who continue to uphold the Girmitiya legacy, the Ministry of Multi-Ethnic Affairs and Sugar Industry invites Expressions of Interest (EOI) to identify descendants aged 85 years and above residing in the Northern Division (Vanua Levu and Taveuni). This is a special opportunity to pay tribute and acknowledge their invaluable contribution towards our shared heritage and their role in preserving it for future generations.
