The coalition government is here with a vision and is determined to achieve it. One of those is to provide Equal Development Opportunities for all Ethnic Communities in Fiji.

Those were the words from the Minister for Multi-Ethnic Affairs and Sugar Industry Hon. Charan Jeath Singh during his first official visit to the Island of Ovalau while meeting various Ethnic Communities of Solomon Islanders, Ni-Vanuatus, and Indo Fijians in Levuka.

Minister Singh, during a consultation meeting with those communities, reiterated the coalition governmentโ€™s firm commitment to ensuring that communities beyond the Indigenous iTaukei group are not overlooked in development initiatives by the coalition government.

โ€œThe government has reintroduced the Ministry of Multi-Ethnic Affairs after 16 years with a new vision to reconnect and provide equal development opportunities to all ethnic groups in Fiji as they all contribute equally towards the development and growth of the Nation,โ€ he said.

โ€œThe coalition government through the Ministry of Multi-Ethnic Affairs will ensure that we reconnect every ethnic community as well as provide equal government services to those ethnic groups who might have felt neglected over the years,โ€ he said.

Minister Singh further assured the communities that the government is keen on the development of every ethnic communities through line Ministries which provide community development projects.

During his visit to Ovalau Island, Minister Hon. Singh addressed pressing issues faced by those communities and advised them on the strategic direction of the Ministry of Multi-Ethnic Affairs, aiming to foster inclusivity and collaboration among Fijiโ€™s diverse communities.
