The Coalition Government, through the Ministry of Multi-Ethnic Affairs and the Sugar Industry, has reaffirmed its commitment to empowerment and equitable community development with the successful execution of the 2024โ€“2025 Multi-Ethnic Grant Program.

While handing over the grants to four communities for the North, in Labasa yesterday, the Minister for Multi-Ethnic Affairs and Sugar Industry, Hon. Charan Jeath Singh, said the Ministry has assisted 202 community-based organizations across Fiji.

โ€œI wish to sincerely thank the Coalition Government, under the leadership of Prime Minister Hon. Sitiveni Rabuka, for the establishment of the Ministry of Multi-Ethnic Affairs and for making this Grant Program a reality,โ€ he said.

โ€œThe Hon. Prime Minister is a true champion of multiculturalism, and it was through his visionary leadership that this Ministry was reinstated to serve the diverse communities of Fiji. The successful implementation of this Grant Program, alongside other initiatives led by my Ministry, further affirms his unwavering commitment to building a united, prosperous, and peaceful Fiji for all,โ€ said Minister Singh.

Minister Singh said the Multi-Ethnic Grant Program is a clear demonstration of the Coalition Governmentโ€™s strategic focus on inclusive development. He said these projects reflect the real needs of the communities and the Ministryโ€™s strategic outreach across the country, ensuring that no region is left out.

Meanwhile, under the Multi-Ethnic Grant Program, the Ministry approved a total of 202 out of 312 applications received, reflecting both the strong demand from communities and the robust due diligence undertaken by the Government to ensure that funding reached eligible and impactful projects.

The final four projects, collectively valued at $54,000, include three borehole water initiatives and one water management project in Savusavu, Dreketi, and surrounding areas, further strengthening access to clean water in the North.
